Our Commitment to Diversity

The Department recognizes the need to become a more diverse organization reflecting the community in which we exist and whom we serve.Excellence is achieved when equity and diversity are infused into all aspects of scholarship and patient care. We strive for an environment and culture of inclusiveness, equal opportunity, and respect for all department members without regard for race, color, creed, religion, national origin, gender, age, marital status, apparent and non-apparent disabilities, public assistance status, veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression.

Our Goals

The overarching goal is to advocate for a culture of equity, inclusion and diversity in the Department of Pediatrics.  In addition, as physician educators and researchers, we must strive to address disparities in the provision of health care and education, along with the focus of research.  This work is being lead by faculty members serving on the Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Council (EDIC).
