The Department of Pediatrics at the University of Minnesota Medical School has a proud tradition of meeting the health care needs of children in the state and the nation since its inception in 1915. We have a large faculty representing all subspecialties, who bring a rich and diverse pediatric culture to our programs. The department is committed to education and lifelong learning for our students, residents, fellows, and faculty.

From pre-doctoral internships to pediatric medical fellowships, our learners work with field-shaping faculty and researchers. We create clinical experiences, research opportunities, and advocacy experiences that prepare our trainees to be leaders, innovators, and collaborators in the field of pediatrics. Each of our programs promotes interdisciplinary teamwork as a core tenet of our programming, creating a rich environment of scholarship across the department.
