Summary

After achieving his medical degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin, Dr. Gershan completed pediatric residency training at the University of Michigan Medical Center. Fellowship training in Pediatric Pulmonary Medicine was completed at McGill University in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Dr. Gershan pursued an additional fellowship year of research training in Pediatric Pulmonary Medicine at Washington School of Medicine. Early in his career, Dr. Gershan joined the faculty at Medical College of Wisconsin as well as became Director of Pediatric Pulmonology at Children's Hospital of Wisconsin. For over two decades he held multiple leadership roles in Wisconsin to include medical direction, fellowship direction, and division direction. Dr. Gershan joined the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Minnesota in June, 2014 after spending four years as the Division Chief for Pediatric Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine at the University of Utah.

Dr. Gershan is the Division Director in Pediatric Pulmonology. In addition to his teaching and clinical activities, he will provide the division leadership to include overseeing the clinical, research, and teaching aspects of the division, fostering the development of junior faculty, and engaging in Department leadership activities.
